Some of you might know, but i recently started skating again. I stopped when i was 15 due to a hideous injury. I think it was in June or July that i started again. I then went out to afghan for two months and continued again when i got back.

So... When i was a kid i was a very good skater. Thing is, back then, as a kid (i started when i was about 8) i could fall over and literally bounce when i hit the deck. Nothing used to hurt! Well, never for long!
Now i hit the deck, and i hit it HARD! After a day's skating i ache, but worse, when i wake up the following morning i can barely stand up! What's that all about! Just rolling out of bed is a task!

Regardless, I'm enjoying it more than anything. I may not be hitting things as hard as i used to, or have the balls to try the stupid things i did as a kid, but im LOVING it! It's always good being an old school skater in this world of new skaters! Us oldies can still show em all a thing or two.

Plus, we still remember when grinding was REALLY hard, with a sole plate about 2cm wide, compared to the half metre todays skates have! Any of you guys remember this? I mean, i started on a set of Daisy's (OUT's), skated Rollerblade chocolates (!) the old salomon skates, my favourite oxegen argons and more. Nowadays i must admit the skates are amazing (I'm rolling some Razor SL 2's and a set of Valo's) and very comfy compared to the old stuff. But still, every time i skate i get a wave of nostalgia!

I mean, so many things have changed. No more Unity mag!!! I think thats saddest of all!

So, to my point, if your an old school skater, or you skate today, tell me what you enjoy most about it, your memories of the old school etc etc. It's always nice to talk to other skaters in this world of BMX's and SkateBoards.

So hit me up, remind me of something i have forgotten about, share a story, let me know of amazing new skate spots to try etc etc. I'll thank you for it
